Our strength lies in our family
La famiglia Peveri
Ciaolatte is made up of one father, one mother, three children, and many other people who work with us and have become part of our family. We are pioneers in organic farming. Hard work, ethics, and environmental care are our core values.
Afra e Roberto Peveri
The families in which Roberto and Afra have grown up both come from the countryside. Roberto's family - the Peveris - comes from the surroundings of Piacenza, whereas Afra’s family - the Furias - is from the area of Parma. They have found each other midway in Borghetto, where they have started writing Ciaolatte’s story.

Over twenty years have passed since Roberto decided to open his own dairy and embark on organic farming. After three years - on the first January 2000 - the first organic Parmigiano wheel was produced. Dario, Filippo, and Serena are now in charge of the production, following Roberto’s steps.

Dario PeveriFilippo Peveri
Dario has been making cheese for more than ten years and is now in charge of the dairy. Filippo has a professional background as an agricultural technician and owns a BA in Economics and Management. He is now responsible for dairy cattle breeding and animal welfare. Serena is a graduated designer as well as the heart and soul of our back office, taking care of our customers’ needs. She is also in charge of our educational programmes and together with her mother Afra performs quality control on Ciaolatte's products. Our farm is made up by and around 15 people with different backgrounds: We are Italians, Chileans, Indians, and Malians.

We aim to maintain the link to Nature

We have been a certified organic farm since 1997. This means we don’t use GMOs, pesticides, or chemical fertilisers. We farm exclusively in accordance with nature’s cycles instead.

Our choice to go fully organic in every phase of our farming activities aims at producing healthier cheese while safeguarding the environment around us and our shared natural heritage for the next generations.

Animal welfare lies at our heart

We really care about the welfare of our cattle: They have free access to grazing areas and low productive pressure on our side.

Calves are fed with cow's milk until they can be weaned. We respect our dairy cows: This is why they are fed using no GMOs, no maize silage, nor grass silage.

We believe that a better animal welfare enables us to produce top-quality milk, which is the foundation of premium Parmigiano Reggiano.
